General Description: The olfactory gland is very receptive to the stimulation of odorous molecules. The receptors are cilia (tiny hair like projections). These wave rhythmically back and forth, waiting to detect scents, each responding to a different odor molecule. Once a receptor picks up a molecule from an incoming odorant, it sends out an electrical signal to the olfactory bulb with the chemical information it has captured. Nerve cells then relay this information directly to the limbic brain, or the "smell brain". The information continues up to the frontal lobes of the brain through the cerebral cortex, where the impulse is then elaborated and the smell is recognized and the effects of the stressor are reduced.

Harmonic 7 essential oil formula: tangerine, lemon, patchouli, cedarwood, bergamot, frankincense and ylang ylang, stimulates the endocrine system to release specific hormones into the bloodstream that counteract the stress response by calming the body sensations and neutralizing the stress chemicals.
